Health insurance
Every foreigner, if he wants to stay in the Czech Republic, must be covered by health insurance.
In the Czech Republic, health services are provided, covered mainly by compulsory public health insurance. Information on public health insurance, including the right to participate in it and the range of health services paid for from it, can be found on the website of the Ministry of Health. There is also a list of health insurance companies providing public health insurance.
For third-country nationals who do not participate in public health insurance, health services are provided on the basis of commercial (private / travel) insurance, international social security contracts (or are covered by the Ministry of the Interior or the Ministry of Health), depending on the specific situation of the foreigner.
The provision and reimbursement of healthcare for UK citizens is governed by special regulations.

From January 1, 2024, all foreigners under 18 years of age who have a valid long-term residence permit, will automatically become participants in the Public Health Insurance System. This applies to all types of long-term residence, regardless of the purpose of the stay. more information here.

Information support for medical staff from among foreigners is also provided by the non-profit organization Doktor Čechov, which associates doctors in the Czech Republic with foreign education.
Recruitment of medical and non-medical health professionals
A Contact Center for Foreigners has been set up to support foreigners from outside the EU who want to work as non-medical and medical health workers. This center informatively helps in negotiations with the authorities and processing all permits that are necessary for work in the Czech Republic. Contact Center - Foreigners coordinates cooperation between health care providers and individual applicants from countries outside the EU.
